Sara Cosgrove has built a distinctive career in interior design through a combination of experience, discipline, and creative vision. Originally from County Mayo, Ireland, she studied at Trinity College Dublin before training at London’s KLC School of Design. Her early professional years with Allegra Hicks, Helen Green Design and Candy & Candy placed her within leading international studios, shaping her understanding of the global luxury market.
Sara later joined Harrods London as Head of Interior Design, where she oversaw a range of residential, retail, and development projects for private and corporate clients. This role refined her ability to deliver complex, high-value schemes with a focus on quality, detail, and discretion.
Following this she was appointed Design Director for The Principal Hotel Company by Starwood Capital Europe Group, where she led the redesign of multiple heritage properties including The Kimpton Fitzroy London, The Intercontinental Edinburgh George Street, The Milner York and The Kimpton Clocktower Manchester. In 2017, she established her own studio, Sara Cosgrove Studio, creating a practice recognised for its refined aesthetic and commercially grounded approach. In 2021 she create a large scale business to business design, fitout and procurement company Grove & Co to service.
Today, Sara leads a focused portfolio spanning luxury residential, hospitality, and multi-unit developments. Her work is characterised by a balanced approach — combining design integrity, storytelling, and operational clarity.
Her contribution to the field has been acknowledged through inclusion in House & Garden’s Top 100 Interior Designers and Country and Town House’s Top 50 Interior Designers lists.
Beyond project work, Sara contributes regularly to industry publications such as The Gloss, The Irish Times, and The Sunday Times Ireland. She has spoken at international design events including Decorex, Sleep, and Index Dubai, sits on the Alumni Board of KLC School of Design, and has served as a lead judge on Ireland’s television series Home of the Year. The practice has also been the recipient of numerous design awards.
